Bella's Adventures in Chicago

Trying to catch up on old pics we haven't posted...

The Friday after Christmas, it was miraculously over 50 degrees somehow, so we took advantage of that and hopped on the L and headed downtown so that Bella could see all of the lights on Michigan Avenue and all that good stuff down there.

She had a lot of fun, she was thrilled enough riding the train, so everything else was cake. We bundled her up really well in the stroller, even though it was warmer, so everyone had a laugh seeing her like that.

Bella even made it easy on us and helped us push the stroller toward the end of the night. Once again, child labor, a beautiful thing.

Our First Music Festival of 2009

Yes, the year is only 8 days old now, but we've already got our first music festival of 2009 planned out!

We'll be heading to Miami, FL, for the Langerado festival on March 6th through the 8th. The festival isn't exactly on par with Lollapalooza, the biggest names are Bella's favorite band Death Cab For Cutie, Ryan Adams, Broken Social Scene, Dashboard Confessional, and yes, Snoop Dogg, but that's okay with me. Yes, Bella will be there rocking out with us as much of the weekend as possible, seeing as she'd be pretty pissed if we went to see her favorite band without her.

We'll get to spend a couple of days hanging out with Bella's grandpa and grandma while we're there too, so that will be good. Plus we are hopefully planning to visit a certain Kingdom while we are there for the first time for Bella too, we'll see about that.

So that will be the first of three definite (Lollapalooza and Pitchfork again for sure this year) festivals for us, plus possibly a fourth, depending on how decent the Warped Tour lineup is by the time that rolls around. Expect many pictures after that trip of course.

Our First Highlight of 2009

Happy New Year everyone...

We had a pretty mild New Year's Eve, just stayed at home and let Bella stay up late, then watched the tv coverage of the ONE major network covering it in Chicago of the clocks hitting midnight in the east coast and Chicago. I guess the networks really need to throw all that money into more crappy reality shows or something instead. Momma's Boys anyone?

Anyways, we woke up this morning, and after a few Caillou episodes, we headed off to have brunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Mon Ami Gabi. Our main reason for going was if you had the brunch in your pajamas, you would get a gift certificate worth the value of your brunch towards a future meal. Since we usually end up there at one of our big annual events, we figured this was definitely worth the trip, let alone the entertainment value of having a brunch in a nice restaurant while wearing our pajamas.

Bella, being the ham that she is, got plenty of laughs and "awwws" during the brunch. She managed to chow down the majority of a big waffle, two mini donuts, and half of my fries. What a girl.

To top things off, we decided to walk around Ikea on the way home, still with the three of us in our pajamas. We definitely got quite a few looks and comments, that was worth the trip just for that.

A pretty good start to 2009 all around...
